Strolling around Lourmarin ........

Lourmarin sits in the heart of Provence
and I would like to say that it is a sleepy little village with residents going about the normal life
but it has become well known amid the tourists trail and now anytime between 11am and 3pm
it is difficult to find a seat in any café or eatery.

The beauty of staying a week or two is that us long stay tourist
get to savour the ambiance of a place by rising early and strolling the deserted laneways
before mingling with the locals in the little boulangerie
carefully selecting a few delicacies for
le-petit-dejeuner

It looks charming. There are many quaint spots that time forgot in the south of France. We are near Carcassonne, which has a huge fortified city that attracts tourists--as it should!--but the small villages around it don't feel touristy at all. Even the center of Carcassonne feels like just a normal town, though many tourists are a short stroll away, in the medieval fortress.
