to market to market ........

place de-la liberte  Sarlat  Dordogne   ~

French country markets are one of the places of love
to spend time in when visiting France
Crammed full with regional produce and very discerning shoppers
who never settle for anything but the best.

My favourite buy at this market was wonderful big chunks of Nougat
in flavours of caramel-au-beurre-sale
miel et lavande and another with big chunks of chocolate and nuts

mind you ... delectable to the taste buds
but not so good for the teeth

Nice shot - it would make a great painting too. That nougat sounds delicious.

I love farmers' markets too. Ours has been open a few weeks now, so I need to get over there to check it out. They are open only a few hours each on Saturday and Sunday, so timing our trips to town are crucial. The homemade sourdough bread is my favourite. But if they had a nougat like that I sure would get some. - Margy
