we must carry it with us or we find it not

served with a warm creamy bowl of café crème
On my way to the Palais Royal Gardens - I dropped into this little café

Cloudy in Urbino .......

Cloudy skies framed by wonderful Medieval architecture
in the small hilltop town of Urbino Italy

Rafaello Sanzio's hometown
or as we know him as "Raphael"
was born here way back in 1483
As I turned to put my camera away
I spotted this lady enjoying a gelato on the run
and couldn't help but capture her vibrant gold shawl
and aquamarine shoes set against the rustic street-scape
I would really love shoes just like that

Un Cycliste Parisien .......

Round every corner - down every street
When in Paris
there's always a photo - waiting to be captured
and a story to be told
It was very early morning
I wonder where this guy was heading for ?
maybe going to work ..... or heading home
I'd like to think he was pedalling to the corner boulangerie
for croissants and chouquettes

Time-Worn and Faded ..........

~   Rue d'Amboise   Paris   ~
Gentle faded paint
and crooked window shutters
is there anything more Parisian?

I love to wake early in Paris ... throw open the window
listen to the chattering and chirping of sparrows
and look out across the street to a wonderful array
of shutters "Time-Worn and faded"

Morning Walk in Normandy .......

The laneways of a Village in Normandy
were almost deserted as I headed down to search out
a little artisan boulangerie.

All I needed to do was
to follow my nose

Beurre Bosc Pears ......

Is there anything more French than beautiful
beurre-bosc pears

I have noted them in still life paintings
through-out the centuries
They always sit so well and those little crinkly rustic stems
must be an artists delight

Just for your interest
the Beurre means buttery and
Bosc is the name of a French Naturalist

Blue Shutters - Lace Curtains ........

spotted in a village in Brittany   ~
Nothing is prettier than the wonderful faded and paint-peeled shutters
in French villages ... I hope no one ever decides to sand and repaint
it would diminish there quaint rustic character
Something in me wants to lift that planter box
and plant afresh with little white trailing daisies
with just a touch of soft dusty pink

The day started out bitterly cold with our faces
being lashed with rain  - my only thought was to find a cosy coffee shop

Voila! the sun came out - the skies lit up and of course
I grabbed my trusty camera and started click-clicking away
