A Blogger Break.......

It has been almost 2years since I commenced my blog-site
"All Things French"
with much encouragment from my niece who helped me set it up .
I remember thinking at the time that no one would want to
see my photos and I was so delighted when I received  2 comments
 for my very first post on "Maison Stohrer"
.
Because my photos pool is running low -I have decided to take a break until early next year when
all being well I will return to La Belle France with my camera in tow.
Thank you all for the encouragement and kindness you have given me along the way
it has been a delightful journey!

Les Fleurs Dans Les Rues.........

Fleurs trailing from pretty window boxes
ironcast lanterns  - scrolled signage
and cobbled alleyways
all an integral part of that quaint old area
known as Montmartre 

Lunch at La Maison d'Eugѐne........

Lunch in Provence is one of those things that everybody should do in their life-time
there's nothing else that quite compares to this experience
and especially, if like me -  you love good food!
This little Salon de thé  served a  wonderful lunch 
under a charming chesnut tree in the hilltop village of Le Barroux
Now that's as good as it gets!


Our delightful French host prepared and served our meal
salade composѐe 
followed by tarte tartin
locally grown apricots and figs
and freshly brewed coffee
and then was more than happy for me to take her photo

Tourettes Sur Loup.......

~ Tourettes-Sur-Loup ~

I set out early one morning on the local bus from Vence in the hills behind the Cote d'azure
 with a plan to visit the wonderful city of Grasse and go dab dabbing
in the prestigious perfume houses of Fragonard Molinard and Gallinard
Along the way I stopped for lunch at this delightful little medieval village
with the wonderful name of Tourrettes-Sur-Loup

It wasn't long before the heavens opened and in the deluge
I missed my connecting bus to Grasse !!
no ~Molinard de Moulinard~ pour moi

This is one of the few pics I managed to take while the sun was still smiling
I must go back!

Parisian Reflections........

I've shown you this pic before taken on entering that wonderful
foodie heaven on Rue Montorgueil

(it's one of my favourites)

A mish-mash of reflections showing

A Splash Of Red......

I love catching the splash of red amongst
the rich green of the chesnut trees

At The Break Of Day..........

Streets swept and washed down
the lamp in the workshop glows telling me
the boulangere is hard at work
creating wonderful delicacies
for le-petit-dejeuner

Le Clos de Montmartre.......

Too early for the vendage!
this beautifully kept vineyard is a  parcel of land sloping down to
Rue St Vincent in what is known as the old Montmartre

I loved looking across to the little three storied cottage
and imagining Maurice Urtillo sitting at the window
 planning his next sketch of this bohemian neighborhood
or maybe Pierre Renoir - paint brush in hand -
putting the finishing touches to his  "Bal au Moulin de la Galette"
or maybe even Pablo Picasso industriously working at his easel
with one eye looking out onto - Au Lapin Agile - right next door.

Some-times in Paris it's as if time has stood still!

Holiday Snaps.......

Just sharing a few snaps from my recent holiday
in Palm Cove which is situated in far north Queensland
I hope you like them!

Beautiful golden sandy beaches

And for special occasions
you could dine under the palms

This gorgeous white chapel situated right on the beach
was the ideal location for small weddings
I couldn't help but take a peek through the windows!

Red Carpet in Reflection......

Home to the Cannes Film Festival
the most prestigious film festival in the world
and in reflection you can see that wonderful red carpet
where the rich and famous strut their stuff.
Think George Clooney - Juliette Binoche -Robert-De-Niro

I walked the carpet many times just hoping that maybe
I stepped exactly where Richard Gere had stepped
