In The Pink............

~ Au Lapin Agile ~

I have shared with you before the joy in strolling the cobble-stoned
 back streets of Montmartre - far away from the maddening crowds
These two cabaret / restaurants are within walking distance
of each other and both painted in would you believe it -  pink!!

Both quintessential Montmartre bistros and both in their
 hey-day frequented by such artists as
Renoir - Toulouse- Lautrec - Picasso and Maurice Utrillo

Provence - silk painting.....

Looking towards  Mount Ventoux in the Luberon

I thought I would share with you this delightful silk painting
spotted at a village market in Provence.
The square could be purchased and used as a scarve
 or just left on the mount and hung on a wall.

 The colours were so vibrant
and aptly depicted -  this beautiful area of the Luberon! 

Market Day In The Vaucluse..........

Browsing the village markets at Caromb
Oh! how I would love to have bought some of those elegant chairs

 The main street of Caromb  - a totally non-touristy
  French village with lots of charm

Ambiance De Brocante.......

I like nothing better than fossicking around in
 cluttered French provincial style shops
Whether it be bric-ẚ- brac or brocante

jugs - bowls - pots - books - linen

Avignon......

" Place De L'Horlage "

So many thing to do and see in Avignon but not enough time
I always battle with the decision  -whether to dash off and see the sights
or to just sit and soak up the atmosphere??
On this occasion I decided on the latter and was not disappointed
Place De L'Horlage is a hive of activity with street artists - portrait painters  -
the prettiest carousel (featured on my header) and even a speakers corner!

" Le Palais Des Papes "

Oh my! I wasn't prepared for the towering magnitude of this 14th century building
now clasified as a UNESCO world heritage site
It is one of the largest gothic buildings in the world.
Photos can in no way convey the enormity of this amazing place.

Free Home Delivery......

I sort of miss the sight of these little red vans that zip around the streets of Paris,
 delivering groceries to la maison Parisian
  always driven by a handsome French man of course.

And in case you're wondering what a teinturerie is - it's a laundromat!
