Courtyards, Cobbled Lanes and Pretty Etched Glass....

Just sharing with you all a few little snipets form walks around Paris
with my "point and shoot" camera ever at the ready

~  Delightful passage-ways leading into private courtyards ~

Cobbled lane-ways running off main streets
This one is a few steps away from Rue Montorgueil

Looking up you will notice those little elements that say Paris
intricate wrought iron balconies- Mansard grey roofs with dormer windows
and of course pretty lamps dangling from ornate brackets

I have cropped this etched glass door
from one of my photos, to show the exquisite detailing

On my next trip to Paris I will take more note of the glass etchings
on windows and doors because they are truly works of art.

Le Notre Dame........

The majestic east end of Notre Dame Cathedral
with it's magnificent flying butresses which span 15 metres

This is the prettier end - being much softened by the
 Square-Jean xxiii Jardin
and Fountaine de L'Archeveche.

Blue Shutters Green Shutters ........

I have been inspired after visiting Jacqueline Newbold's site
"Art In My Heart"  to post more of my photos
taken whilst in La Belle Provence

These two photos were taken in the delightful hilltop village of
Crillon-Le-Brave situated in the Vaucluse department of Provence
wonderful old rustic stonework houses
and shutters galore in greens and blues and
that lovely buttery shade of yellow.
Truly an artist's delight!

 

Café Crѐme à Paris

With all the beautiful sights to be found in Paris
the thing I love most, is sitting at an outdoor café
sipping a good coffee and taking in the sights
 and sounds of this amazing city
 Café crѐme would have to be my favourite drink
a cafѐ express with warm milk
if you want a small cup it is called
un petit crѐme

Le Consulat .........

Le Consulat  in the heart of Montmartre is always crowded 
I stood here for ages waiting for a few tourists
to disperse so that I could take a  reasonable pic of the facade
but it never happened!! - in the end I decided that maybe this is the way it is
a hub of activity - tourists wanting to soak up the atmosphere of the old
Montmartre just like me and so I took the photo
I hope you like it

Le Petit Train de Montmartre.....

Waiting on Le Boulevard de Clichy  for this little train
 to take us up to Place de Tertre
It wound around the narrow cobbled  stone streets - giving us
wonderful views of the
 lovely old Montmartre neighbourhood.
