A Side Step Into Tuscany....

There's something magical about rustic tuscan homes
with their peeling walls of ochre and terra cotta
with golden timbered doors - olive green shutters
and pots of geraniums spilling out from every nook and cranny.
Of course to complete the setting, an Andre Bocelli /Sarah Brightman
Cd softly playing " Con Te Partiro" (Time to say Goodbye) in the background.

I could spend a long time under the Tuscan sun.

Gorgeous, half-crumbling, stately architecture. We've nothing with that much character Stateside. Sigh.

This is why I love blogs like yours.

What a beautiful area this is with its rich colors and bountiful treasures of food, wine, and countryside! This scene reminds me of a fabulous restaurant outside of Montalcino... must get back to this part of Italy!

Italy and France are very different yet they share their love and respect of their beautiful old buildings.
I wish our town planners and architects would spend more time studying and absorbing how these two countries do it.
Even in the smallest village in France there are very strict guidelines as to what and how to build...
Food for thought - thank you Dianne!

These are beautiful Tuscan scenes, Dianne, with the shutters and crumbling stucco. I can imagine the music playing and a table set under the trees with red wine, freshly-pressed olive oil and chewy bread. Lovely.
