Beautiful Monaco #2

Monaco is gearing up for the F1 Grand Prix to be held this week-end
when every square inch of accomodation will be booked up and ready
for the world renown event.
Recently I showed you the photo  here  looking down over Port Hercule
Today's photo is taken from the same spot
but looking back over the rooftops of Monaco.

Can you imagine the eclectic mix of the worlds rich and famous
who will all congregate in this principality at one time
I have it on good authority that
the terrace of Le Café de Paris Monte Carlo
is the place to be for people watching

Make mine café crѐme avec chantilly s'il vous plait

Hi Dianne,

Oh the excitement to be in Monaco and to be able to watch the Grand Prix and see the rich and famous.
Aren't the buildings all so close together.

Happy week

Monaco must be very impressive! I didn't realise how extensive it was and it's situated in beautiful surroundings too!

I'm thinking about a trip to the South of France next year - you whetted my appetite. x

And you'll only have to pay 15 euro for that coffee too :)

Kirsty: last year I ordered a glass of coke with ice at a sit down table on Le Rocher - It was a hot day and I was thirsty - it cost me €18- I made it last a long... time!!

Gosh, I drove through Monaco {years ago!} and had no idea that it was as dense as this. {Mind you, the person at the wheel was a lunatic, so I probably had my eyes closed for much of the time.}

Maybe we should all just pop around the corner from Monte Carlo to Menton. We can cycle to the GP.
Menton has special memories for us. We visited there in 2006 because our home in Melbourne is in the suburb of Mentone.

Funny that you should do this today .. this is where my husband is headed right now (12.30pm Monday) ,, he left Barcelona to go to Monaco .. for work ..F1 work.

And so odd that the comment from leon and Sue mentions Menton , because that is where he and his work collegues are staying. I was trying to go , not a chance. :-( Next year it is going to be my year to go.. will make sure of that :-)

Great picture Dianne, like Shell Sheree I had no idea Monaco was so heavily built up. What a view all those apartments must have. Hopefully the coffee at that price will be the best coffee ever!!

Your Coke cost about the same as the bourbon I had at Harry's NY Bar in Paris! I'll be checking in with our dear Jilly at Monte Carlo Daily Photo to see her photos of the race as well!

Frankly my dear, I think I'd rather be on the Riviera..on a quiet beach listening to the tide roll in, rather than the humm of speeding cars. I can hear that any ole time outside my window in NYC...
c'est la vie

Carol:- Well just for you my dear - we will find a sound proofed appartment - I'm sure that won't be too... difficult. Would hate to think you were missing out - you can swan off to St Tropez next week!!

This is an amazing view but I myself would like to speed (hah!) on over to Menton and meet up with Jilly and Malyss. I do love being a voyeur from afar to all of this glitz and glitter!

The picture gives you such a nice idea of the area... the amount of people. Almost what it might be like to be there.

What an impressive photograph...wonderful! I've never been to Monaco..somehow it never made it to my list of places to there's a place to see, or is it only because I'm such a Nadal tennisfan, hehe.

What a beautiful photo! I was there almost 5 years ago and it was a lovely little place...or maybe I should say country :) Hope you have a great day!

As in all things, art and otherwise, there is a lot of houses there and that means a lot of water is used and there are a lot of toilets there and that means it all has to go somewhere. I wonder if the ocean is the sewer or is there a place built especially to handle such abundance? I am ignorant and American and live on the wrong side of the pond and at my advanced age of 77 years, I am not able to go there and see the answer for myself. Perhaps you know the answer?

I have decided to follow you to see what happens in your neighborhood.
