Le Petit Dejeuner dans Le Terrace.....

The French know how to do breakfast well
and this charming chambre d'hote in Avignon
was no exception.
The Madame of the house had been up early
baking flaky croissants and nut breads
for our petit dejeuner
and on each table she served individual
pots of home made strawberry yoghurt
truly delectable!

I can just taste the special quality of those croissants! Truly there can be few better starts to a day than a real French breakfast served outside with good coffee...

lucky you to have found such a great B&B. When we were on France in a hotel breakfast was very sober, not what we were used to in Scandinavia and the UK. Well it's important that theeople are froendly! And they are in France , the UK and everywhere in Scandinavia too! Ha ve a great week and I hope that your weather is as beautiful as ours.

WE've just rediscovered your blog and enjoyed reading sections of it this morning - it brought back many pleasant memories of our travels in some of the areas of France. We even stayed fro 2 weeks in Rue Montorgueil and like you said it was great for a foodie like my wife Sue - We love Adelaide as well. Join us on Wednesdays when we travel France. Looking forward to reading more soon.

Hi Dianne,

Petit dejeuner is such a treat, in France... the freshly baked croissants with home made jam, nothing like it.
Such a lovely place you started your day.

Happy week

Looks and sounds like an idyllic way to start any day, Dianne. And those stripes are so fresh and full of joie de vivre. I hope you've had a lovely extra-long-long weekend.

Sounds idyllic! What I would give to sit in the sun on that terrace, with a coffee and croissant :-)
Have a good day,

Well, this is just the reason I need to head "south" in France again! We stayed in a small hotel in Arles and this reminds me of the courtyard... so lovely!
