we must carry it with us or we find it not

Leaves that cling to facades....

~ "La Louche" ~   Caromb

As you step outside ~ the beauty of Provence envelopes you
buttery sunflower yellow shutters
aged terracotta
weathered blues
cobbled courtyards
leaves that cling to facades
old street lamps that twinkle and glisten
the waft of freshly baked baguettes on the early morning air

Lovely photos. Crumbling plaster, stone and luxuriant plants: that's Provence.

Have you discovered the exquisite Provencal paintings of Julian Merrow-Smith? There is a post about him up on my blog now.

Deborah: Thanks ~ his work reminds me a bit of Paul Cezanne's still life works. Just beautiful!

I wish I was walking down that little street right now. There's just something about the greenery in Provence that's so special.

Thanks Dianne for my morning dose of France.

Dianne this is what I love about Provence, the colours, the essence - it is pure magic.
I can't wait to return in the summer when everything is at it's best.
I love your new picture as your header too.
Have a super week.

Hi Dianne,
I can only imagine how lovely it would be in Provence- your photos are lovely.
I am looking forward to some green vines here but it will be awhile yet.

Thank you for your kind words on my blog today.

Hi Dianne,

What beautiful photos you have shared today. We never got down to Provence, so I will enjoy living vicariously through your travels, until I am able to visit one day.
Also your new blog header looks so tranquil and I would love to be sitting in under the umbrella there.

Happy Wednesday

I was immediately drawn in by the first photo with the old walls contrasting the fresh green... the stucco colors are creamy-dreamy and I can smell the baguettes from here... take me away!

Oh, I'm ready to go back and I haven't been away from there but a few weeks. Such colors are just captivating!
