"Guess Who's coming to Dinner....

The subject heading for our essay in my French Class this week
is ~If you could invite 3 people to join you for Dinner,
Who would they be?
The first names that came to mind were

1: Richard Gere for his good looks and charm.
2: Catherine Deneuve for her love of the French Film industry
and all things Parisian
3: mmm.... it needs to be another male...
maybe Valentine ~ how romantic that would be!!
or Gustave Flaubert
I would like to ask him more about Madame Bovary
Did she really exist, or only in the imaginations of his mind.
or Ernest Hemmingway who made that profound statement,

there's no friend as loyal as a book.....

Which begs the question
~Who would you invite~

My Dinner would be held in Paris ~bien sur~
Some-where classy
perhaps "Le Grand Vefour" or "Le Train bleu" or.....

If I can go back in years I would love to have Maurice Chevalier, I remember him well :)) Diane

Food, Fun & Life in the Charente:- You can certainly go back in time -
Maurice would be a splendid Dinner guest ~ he could wear his lovely boater hat and sing you a song that would be oh! so romantic.

Your roses in the side bar would make delightful Valentine's gifts :-)

As for dinner, your two choices are just gorgeous.

My guests ? Necessarily inspired leaders : Nelson Mandela, Barack Obama, Gandhi if he were still alive

Nathalie:- On asking this question to my friends, Nelson Mandela is the name that has been mentioned most. I think in the company of your other honoured guests it would be an interesting Dinner party to sit in on. They would have much to discuss and perhaps some lively debate as the evening proceeded. Well chosen!

Oh what fun that would be Dianne!
But for Valentines Day I would have to be in Venice.

My group would consist of Catherine de Medici for the history of Venice, Luciano Pavarotti for his charm and voice and Ernest Hemingway for his observation of life!

We will meet at Harry's Bar for drinks and then be advised by the Venetians of where to eat.

We will end the evening in Cafe Florian!!

I do hope you can join us Dianne as I'm sure it will be an unforgettable evening! Is there some one you would like to bring?

hugs
Shane
ps Happy Valentines to you.

Roses Lace & Brocante:- Wow! what a night in beautiful Venice ~ yes I would love to join you for drinks at Harry's Bar & would you mind terribly if I brought Antonio Vivaldi along ~ he might just be persuaded to play for us on his violin "Spring" from Four Seasons

Diane this is a great post --I am afraid that a few of my choices would be a little frivilous.

1. Colin Firth - actually Mr Darcy ( soaked shirt included)
2. Coco chanel - if only I could speak french. and she must bring a hostess gift .
3. Oprah - she really would be so much fun.

oh I am getting excited at the thought. x Suzi

Hi Dianne,

What a wonderful dinner date you would have. Isn't it fun to dream!
You must enjoy your French classes, rather than trying to learn the tapes from Michel Thomas, that I am trying to do.

Hope that you had a romantic and lovely Valentines day.
Hugs
Carolyn
