we must carry it with us or we find it not

Elegant sculpture .........

In a little park at the river end of Avenue Montaigne
I found this delightful statue entitled
"A la France la Belgique reconnaissante"
1914 - 1918

The detail in the work is truly magnificent
The designer Monsieur R Foucart
obviously had an eye for ladies finery
and how it draped on the female form.

I couldn't help but think ,
what a perfect location for this beautiful sculpture,
nestled in the heart of Parisian Haute-Couture
with it's aura of elegance and gentility

Just lovely! One of the things I love so much about Paris is all of the public art and sculpture. Everywhere you look there's something to feast your eyes on.

Well, the lawn on this is about as vert as it gets! What a lovely little setting for this monument.

I just returned from Paris and have been 'cataloging' my 3000+ photos. I came across the lovely sculpture in the garden on Avenue Montaigne and when I checked my notes, had made no notation of the name of it.
I have been searching and searching and finally found your blog. How wonderful! I too thought it so appropriate for the setting and have a dozen photos.
Merci beaucoup!
