Pretty Chauvire Dome.....

After browsing the beautiful fashion floors of galleries Lafayette
& dining in the cafe at the top
we were amazed to find this wonderful roof top terrace
with 360 degree views over the
surrounding Paris sky-line.
........
How close we were to the Opera~Garnier
home to the infamous "Phantom of the Opera"
with it's pretty chauvire dome
named in recognition of France's prima ballerina
Yvette Chauvire.

Montmartre ~ so pretty

Dianne, that is an incredible view and to think that you could dine and then take these panoramic photos - wow! The sky over Montmartre looks like a soft watercolor painting. Lovely post!

Hi Dianne
Firstly congrats my dear friend on 100 followers - woo hoo!!!
Your blog is really such a beautiful place to visit.

Isn't this rooftop just great - we found it last year too!
I love coming to see you - my heartstrings have been firmly in France for longer than I care to remember - I'm sure I lived there in a past life as everything was sooo familiar to me even the very first time I visited!!!!!!!
I'm a huge rose lover too - we have much in common.
take care

Those streets are magical. Filled with beautiful boutiques and boulangeries; yes I could walk them forever.

I must remember this spot when I go to Galeries Lafayette next time. What a find! Doesn't Printemps have a roof top cafe too--I think I've eaten there, but maybe I"m confusing it with Galeries Lafayette. Thanks for educating me about the chauvire dome. Never knew that tidbit of information before today!
Bonne semaine,
Debi

Debi: yes Printemps does have a rooftop cafe~ because I have seen photos taken from there~ the view is very similar but of course you don't get the lovely close up of the
Opera- Garnier.

Lovely photos. I really like the one of the Boulevard Haussmann.

I wonder what Paris would look like today had it not been for the visions of Monsieur Haussmann.
